Commit to a relationship? Not in this guy's life, or so he thinks. When he meets the one girl who starts stirring his emotions, and finds that he's not able to shake her from his thoughts, that's when he realizes he may be in over his head but still vows not to surrender to a commitment..."Let Me Out" |

Story Behind the Song
The music for this song came before the lyrics. The title was the first lyric to hit me, the music seemed to be saying "Let me out". That night, while watching a movie at home about the fear of committing, I got the idea for the main premise. It was odd the way the title came before the idea for the whole song, but the whole thing came together nicely. There were three rewrites and recordings that lead to this version.
Lyrics
LET ME OUT
Words & Music by Joseph Marra
I've seen you here before
You never noticed me
Not into promises
No fan of monogomy
There's something about you girl
I try to deny any emotions I feel
Is it real ? What I feel ?
What I try to conceal ?
CHORUS
Let Me Out, Let Me Out
Free me from within
You're the cross that I bear
Feel my walls closing in
Let Me Out, Let Me Out
I'm a prisoner
Hear my heart & my soul, they shout...
Let Me Out
I have survived the past
I've got a heart of stone
I don't want your love to last
Or to make you my own
I try to convince myself
that there's no lonely nights
I won't surrender, No, I'll stand fast,
though afraid of this mess that i've made.
CHORUS
Let Me Out, Let Me Out
Free me from within
You're the cross that I bear
You're my lust, You're my sin
Let Me Out, Let Me Out
I'm a prisoner
Hear my heart and my soul, they shout...
Let Me Out
