Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song after my oldest son's 1st birthday party. He was sitting and the table eating his birthday cake and I asked him, "How was your first trip around the sun?", I knew immediately it was a song! I think I wrote the whole thing in about 10 minutes.
Lyrics
How was your first trip around the sun?
Now that a new one has begun
Hope you're enjoying the scenery
Hope it's still here when your old as me
I look in your eyes and I always see mine
Save for the slow sure passage of time
What will become of us by and by
My promise to you, I'll never lie
Morning glorys have to fade against the heat
We're no different than the flowers you and me
But what started from the tiniest of sparks
Can burn brightly and illuminate the dark
Look at the stars spinning all around
Look at your feet planted on the ground
All of you're life's somewhere inbetween
Where you'll decide just what to believe
Morning glorys have to fade against the heat
We're no different than the flowers you and me
But what started from the tiniest of sparks
Can burn brightly and illuminate the dark
Repeat 1st verse
