    Story Behind the Song
This song is all about having to move on and leave people you love behind. I wrote part of it when I went home for the first time after college and another part after a summer camp where I knew I would probably never see most of the people again. It's definitely a sad thing, but it's good in the way that at least those people had an affect on my life and will always be a part of who I am.

    Lyrics
    Saw a man sitting outside
His legs wrapped around an old steal drum
It made me wonder, what it felt like
    To be free like me
Said goodbye to my friends today
Turned around and wished I could stay
    But I must go now
Maybe we’ll meet on another path

    (CHORUS)
And I’m walking with you for the last time
And I’m talking with you for the last time
And the summer breeze on my face for the last time
And I’m walking, I’m walking all alone

Up on main street saw a girl I knew
I said hi but didn’t have a clue
    Who she was
Memories fly by and I forget names
Called up an old girlfriend today
She picked up but I’d nothing to say
How have you been let’s quit the small talk
This is my last call so let’s go for a walk

    (CHORUS)

Went up east for the summertime
And strangers soon became friends of mine
    And I’ll miss them so
    How much they’ll never know

    But people change
We all go our separate ways
Maybe I’ll see you on that road
And if you pass me by, if you pass me by, if you pass me by
If you pass me by, just say hello

    Saw a man sitting outside
His legs wrapped around an old steel drum
