    Story Behind the Song
Was just sitting in my garage one hot summer late afternoon, I'd read
some horrible news earlier in the day, saw more horrific news on TV and son...
All that horrible stuff; can't remember exactly what it was that
specifically bothered me; but it was enough to prompt me to write a song
about how I view some of these things, the world, God, politics and so on.
What the world, my children are growing up in, will be like; "will they live to see us fall.."

The basic frame of the song was pretty complete in a couple of hours, sans
the end rhythm-melody change. That part was added over a period of weeks. I wanted a definite
change in the rhythm and place for a main lead as well as, the leads that would
eventually follow the lyrical lines towards the end, or altro, part of this song.

Recording wise, since we had a limited budget which translated into
roughly 35-40 hours of total recording time for the entire demo, we made sure
of just about every aspect of each of the 4 major songs we wanted on the demo.
The total recording time for this song was, in hours, basic tracks, rhythm and lead tracks,
overdubs, mix and re-mixes, etc., would probably be in the area of around 8-10 hours
over many days. As for how many takes.... for all the songs on the demo,
most every take for the basic tracks, rhythm tracks, leads and so on,
were pretty much 'keepers'. By the way, I'm using this space,
for this particular song, in it's "Story behind the song" area,
to describe the recording process for all the other songs on
this demo except "Out Of My Head", which, as you will see,
has its own story. As for re-takes and the like, vocal tracks were done over
the most, lead guitar tracks, punch-in and punch-outs, etc. to a much
lesser degree. As I said; this went pretty much for all the main songs.
I / we, appreciate the opportunity to give this information to any and
all people reading it, it's truly an honor. We thank you

    Lyrics
I read the news and watch TV, it makes me sick
This world is full of criminals and drugs addicts
I try so hard, to understand the way it is
Another cop lies dead, maybe the devil lives

And of the one who said he'd save us from it all
I see it coming can you see the darkness fall

Another day goes by, the skies, they turn to gray
The execution of mankind is underway
Another day goes by, there's famine in the air
We vote for politicians, do they really care

And of the one who said he'd save us from it all
What of our children will they live to see us fall
We were supposed to live to see another day
What of the paradise and how much do we pay

Do we pay-------------(rhythm / melody line change)

(Main lead and all riffs that follow vocals: John Martini)

Life was so good in this special land

Lying here beside me in the sand

Then they came and changed our love our lives

Through their hearts I'll stab them with my knife

    -end
