From a soulful pleading ballad to a rock driven walk down memory lane, all in a single tune. This song is mildly reminiscent of Thin Lizzy in it's approach to the solo and altro. Very groovy and easy to listen to. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written for one of our friends, who thankfully had only a brief flirtation with cocaine.
He was saying things like, "Not me, man! It's not that addictive. I can handle it." Meanwhile everyone around him was cringing to see it going down that way. Things that meant so much to him started to mean less than nothing.
That's the verses! The chorus was created in my outbuilding studio one summer evening in 96.
A reunion with my wife after my wife was the inspiration for the chorus.
Lyrics
If you can't see you've changed, you're blind
Cause it's not just another phase, this time
I just close my eyes, when you come around
Cause it's all I can do, I don't want to watch you drown.
(Chorus)
Oh, what will bring me
It's not gonna save me
It's my demise
Now I play that part again
Of the fool, the fool for you
What happened to those days
and those happy sounds
I think I heard your ship last night
It finally ran aground
but I still see you in my minds eye
it's yesterday
We're walking by the sea
and the thought takes me away
(Chorus)
