    Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in the fall of 2000 after some "difficulties" with one of my love interests. I can safely say, however, that he was not the complete inspiration behind this song, I also based this song off of personal relationships conveyed to me from family and friends. There were actually two roughs for this song, one soft and almost sad, and this one that has more of a rock "in your face, kiss my a**" kind of feel. We decided to put this one on the album to give a better transition between "Memorial" and "Restaurant of Despair." Eventually I would like to re-record and release the lighter version, but unless someone wants to sign me or fund my recording habit, that's going to have to wait. -Aimee Elisabe

    Lyrics
    Close all the windows
    And lock all the doors
    The moonlight is escaping
    It's moving in hordes
    And I have asked
‘til I'm blue in the face
Search and seizure could have never been sweeter
But not with your cold embrace

    So walk out the door
    And whisper a rhyme
Come to a conclusion and offer dilution
    Yourself this time
    And I ask for little
    And I ask for none
But I saw the roses die and wither slowly beneath the sun

    (Chorus)
    Every day is falling forward
And every moment is just bliss
And the clock is moving backward
    To independence

    And so the birds
    They laugh in the trees
And the spiritual air that we felt
    Is now just a breeze
    And die in the window
    And cover your scars
    Iron the denim sheets
    And kiss away the stars

    (Chorus 3x
