Story Behind the Song
Written after a move in to a brand new apartment. Nothing worked, and had to move out after a few days when the roof fell in.
Lyrics
Their tearing out the walls, their knocking down the buildings. To put up, with little effort, a place we'll soon call home. And they'll swear, to you, it'll last a hundred years. But move in day comes months away cause the roof just fell on in. But that ain't me. Don't want it to be, Disposable Society. From 9 to 5 you go to work, the place that makes you sick. Bangin' on your computer, sweat rolling down your neck. Well you fuss with this and you fuck with that, and your mind moves way to quick, cause you've spent your hard earned money, on things that just go click. But that ain't me, Don't want it to be. Disposable Society You head on down to Lincoln Square, the show rooms all in a row. Gonna get a brand new car, the old one she won't go. Drive it off the lot he says, I'll make you a real good deal. But the car don't start, its falling apart and you haven't even got the bill. But that ain't me. Don't want it to be. Disposable Society Social Security, will be gone in a few short years. And you look down at your body, and you notice your hidden fears That it can't do what it used to, Mother Nature played a joke on you. For your want of life, has faded away. I guess you're disposable too. But that ain't me. Don't want it to be. Disposable Society. Hey now Hey!
