Story Behind the Song
After the tragedy on September 11 in New York, I was inspired to write a song about the courage of the New York people. I watched CNN and OPRAH on television and saw the bravery of the New York firefighters and the support their citizens gave them. The lyrics I wrote took on a religous feeling, as you will see.
Lyrics
It started out like any other morning
But this was no typical day
The fire in the form of an explosion
Two towers they crumbled away
God help me, shine a little love in my life
God help me, shine a little love in my life
The fireman rushed into the burning building
Such courage I'd never seen
We lost brave souls in a fire unyielding
Can you tell me what does this mean
God help me, shine a little love in my life
God help me, shine a little love in my life
How long I say will this hurt last
We lost them there today
Please Lord heal their hearts they need it
Make this pain go away
God help me, shine a little love in my life
God help me, shine a little love in my life
God help me, send a little love to my life
God help me,
shine a little love, in our lives......
