	Story Behind the Song This is one of the two songs I recorded during the summer of 2001, the other one being "Around the Way". If you listen to a lot of alternative music from the mid-1990's, you'll find that the lyrics use a lot of simple contradictions, presumably to sound enigmatic. So they would have called this song "The Smallest Giant" or something. Lyrics I could fill a classroom with the stories I have told But none of them would hold your attention So I sit back and wait for your love to turn to hate And I show the words around, yes, I show the words around Like a submarine resurfacing only to return to see That water's overrated, we don't need it anyway It carries germs, I caught a bad infection yesterday I'm better now there's no need to moan and pout I'm the biggest giant and you're the strongest cow I've got a great collection of books I've yet to read And letters that I wrote but never sent I've got skills to pay the rent and the moral of the story Is you miss every shot that you don't take And you eat every cookie that I bake Cause food is so neglectful vis-a-vis my memory And it was lame of me to write that note so negligently Wish I had a dime for every time you looked at me I'm the biggest giant and you're the tallest tree You tried to make me be the clown in the dunk tank Make me play the bass in a funk band I liked you when your soul was clothed I thought you knew how goths smoke Cloves And now I'm leaving, you can have my PSX if you want And if you need me you can look in one of my old haunts But you won't find me, cause I'll be in Portland, Oregon I'm the biggest giant, and you are simply gone
