Story Behind the Song
There's a beautiful little nine-year-old girl with long black hair and chocolate brown eyes named Reeta Doss who is living in the slums of Madras, India.
My husband, Joe and I support Reeta through Compassion International (www.Compassion.com)and have a picture of her on our refrigerator so we can remember to pray for her every time we see her face.
One day, as I glanced at her picture I imagined myself holding her in my arms and singing this lullaby: "There's a place of no more sorrow, there's a place of no more need..."
Lyrics
There's a place of no more sorrows,
there's a place of no more need
So wipe your tears, it won't be long
The highest place for those who've suffered
He said blessed are the meek and poor
So have no fear, He's always near
It won't be long before He comes
to rescue you with open arms
He'll take you up into the air where love is long and life is fair
To heaven - Your castle on a cloud
Because you are royalty, you will be honored with a crown
You will be safe from harm,
And you will find security
Where life is long and you don't have to worry
Dios dijo que habria tristezas
El dijo que en este mundo
habria lagrimas, pero El las sobrivivio
Porque es mayor El que esta dentro
que el que esta en el mundo
y nadie puede quitar sus promesas
He's promised you that He will come
to rescue you with open arms
He'll take you up into the air where love is long and life is fair
To heaven - Your mansion in the sky
Where you will always be completely satisfied
Far from hunger, high above loneliness
Where life is long and you don't have to worry
You don't have to worry, You don't have to be afraid
'Cause through all your suffering and trials,
You know He'll give you peace, joy and love
And you'll find hope when you look above!
To heaven - Your joy that never ends
You'll see your loved one's, and you'll be with your closest friends
You will see Jesus and He will take you in His loving arms
Where life is long and you don't have to worry
