Story Behind the Song
The foundation of the song, including guitars, drums, bass, guitars, other sounds, etc.., was recorded in a digital environment (one take for each instrument). Melody recorded her vocals several times. It was a hot August night around midnight and the studio was unbearably muggy. The windows were open... traffic can be heard if you listen close. Noise's grandfather had just died, hence the theme of "all at once."
Lyrics
All at once, all at once, all at once, everything began, all at once, all at once, everything began, you looked down, you looked down, you looked down, as it fell in your lap, you looked down, you looked down, all at once everything began.
Stumbling around in a dream. Funny to see you sitting there. Slumped down underneath a tree. Funny to see you sitting there. This is supposed to be about me. Is this a clue of what I need? Funny to see you sitting there, funny to see you sitting there. Lost himself in a dream.
All at once, all at once, all at once, a bang so big, I almost lost my head.
Slivers of everything all around.
Ejected into emptiness.
Took them in your hands.
Sculpt them into rivers and lands.
All at once everything began.
