Story Behind the Song
"Monkey King" is the mischievous protagonist from the ancient Chinese folk tale,Journey to the West. The novel began with a series of oral and written versions, and eventually attained its most definitive version written by Wu Ch'eng-en (1500?-1582), a scholar-official in the Yantze region, and published in 1592.
The Monkey King is born from stone and the novel follows his adventures in search of the Sutra, the Buddhist holy book. The legend probably has its roots in India .Thus although the Monkey King is a Chinese legend, like many of us, his lineage can be traced back to various parts of Asia.
In my music album Monkey King, you can "read" this great story that mingled with Chinese fables, fairy tales, legends, popular beliefs, monster stories as well as whatever the author could find in the Taoist and Buddhist religions.
You can also watch some very beautiful Chinese cartoon in "Images". The cartoon and story is very long.I'll renew it weekly.
