A basic acoustic song that I played while singing the melody, then went back and sand the harmony over the top. It's a first draft of the song, without any editing. |
Credits: Thorn, for giving me an opportunity to record this... I owe you big time man |
Story Behind the Song
This is the first song I ever wrote. I had only recently picked up a guitar about 5 months before writing this. It's basically a song of admiration for a girl I liked at the time. I have always been a singer, so my chord progression might be simple, but I wanted to develop the voice without destroying the idea of the song.
Lyrics
(verse 1)
Here I sit, quietly pondering the thoughts in my mind
Running around in circles, they dance
And all the while I'm thinking of you
Alone I am, I can't recall the time that you
Were with me last, how 'bout this time
We start all over again...
(refrain)
Come with me, to a place I'd like to call my home
The home in my mind
We're always alone, never distracted
Always happy
Oh won't you come with me
(verse 2)
Outside my mind, you're only a passing person
That I see, if we could only be together someday
I'd prove it to you, you'd see...
(refrain)
(bridge)
What measures a man? His strength his fame?
The fortunes we see?
A man should be... measured for the size of his heart
(refrain 2)
Come with me, dance with me
Happiness is what you make of it
Cause I'll always be here, to make your world
Just like the one... just like the one in my mind.
