What do we believe is the basic pursuit of all human beings in life? Why happiness, of course. But what is it? Everyone would answer this question in a different way. Here's mine. |

Story Behind the Song
One day I sat down and thought... We all strive to be happy. What does that mean for me? Not for someone else, but for me? The answer came surprisingly easy. I decided to write it down. Then to record my thoughts with a music background. This is very mellow, but that's not surprising considering the subject matter.
Lyrics
What is happiness? I've thought about it a lot. To me happiness is contentment. Being content with your life the way it is. I don't think it is to difficult for me to be happy. I don't believe this shows a lack of ambition. I think ambition is overstated in today's society. People just never seem to be happy no matter what they have achieved, accumulated, conquered. They always want more. And wanting more creates discontentment and unhappiness. What's really needed to be happy? Having good friends that really know you well and appreciate you for all the million things that you are... A loving, supportive family... A cozy home to live in... A job that you enjoy doing and that provides you with a comfortable existance... And, of course, being in a mutually rewarding, loving relationship. To have a combination of all these things in your life at the same time isn't easy, but there are plenty of people out there that do and are still unhappy. But for me... that is all I need. When I reach a point in my life where all the things I've just described come together I believe I will be perfectly content, and thus happy. Looking at my life now I'm well on the way there... I hope.
