    Story Behind the Song
Like most people, I was a passive observer of 9/11. I sat, transfixed by the television, not moving, not breathing - for a week. Then it started to sink in. Not being able to travel to New York, and not being an American, it was difficult to express the emotion that I felt that horrible week. So I did the only thing I could do - I put it into words and wrote music to it. Not really a "tribute song", this is just a song about how I felt on Sept. 11, and I hope it is a feeling that is shared by others. I hope I haven't offended anyone with this song, and I sincerely hope that there are others out there who can identify with it. I would love to hear your comments.

    Lyrics
    Memoriam (Please Stop)

Dedicated to the victims of the Sept.11 attacks and their families

The skies were all blue on that day
    But September 11 gave way
    Horrors on horrors we saw
    Innocence ripped raw

The clock on the wall seemed to stop
And all that I need I forgot
And all of the birds held their breath
For the families and children now left

    Won't you please
    Please stop
    This madness

    Sons and daughters
    Sisters, brothers
    Mothers, fathers
    Gone

    Bankers, lawyers
    Clerks and traders
    Not a soldier one

The smoke at Ground Zero may fade
Shiny new buildings might be made
But nothing can fill up this space
For the thousands who hope and still wait

    Won't you please
    Please stop
    This madness

If there's love in your heart
    Then open your heart
    Let go of your hate
    And please stop
