Story Behind the Song
This song was originally recorded in 1993 at Sound Idea's in Manchester. Since then it has seen many changes. Knowing me, it will probably see many more. The original backing vocals were sung by the one time Key 103 presenter Michelle Stephens. It was produced by Craig Etchells. (Heart FM)
In this particular version, Gary Van plays Bass as he did in the original with Phil Hardiker on Lead Guitar. The additional vocals were provided by the wonderful Sarah Hudd. It was recorded at The Cutting Rooms, Cheetham Hill in 1996.
Lyrics
I'm an insecure person as it goes,
Walkin' round, no fixed abode.
Being moved on from place to place.
As reality arouses, I'm disgraced.
So I'll just hit that bottle again.
Don't matter if I do it, again n' again.
I feel the taste in the back of my mouth.
I don't care cos I've done without.
There she goes again, in my dreams.
And she's making me smile.
Remembering yesterday.
Then it slowly fades away.
I'm an insecure person as it goes,
Walkin' round, no fixed abode.
Being moved on from place to place.
I walk through the night but I don't leave a trace.
And nothing is all I'll ever own.
Except this dirty paving stone.
Which is where I'm gonna sleep tonight.
Wake up sick, but I'm alright.
There she goes again, in my dreams.
And she's making me smile.
Remembering yesterday.
Then it slowly fades away.
I'm an insecure person as it goes, yes.
I'm walking round, I'm walking round.
Theres no fixed abode.
Being moved on from place to place.
As reality arouses, I'm disgraced.
But there she goes again, and she's in my dreams.
And she's making me smile.
But I'm remembering yesterday.
And then it slowly fades away.
Slowly fades away.
Slowly fades away.
But I'm remembering yesterday.
And then it slowly fades away.
It slowly fades away.
And it slowly fades away.
And then it slowly fades away.
