Story Behind the Song
"Holy" is a dialogue representing the idealism of the media versus the justifications of public officials during wartime. Factions of the press tend to have a whimsical attitude when reporting war events and results - perhaps echoing the thoughts and desires of the American public. Government officials, however must remain steadfast and factual to ensure a certain level of diplomacy. All while they are sure to mention that all the violence and oppression is only in the name of democracy and freedom. Unfortunately, the true objective is never evident until it is too late...
Lyrics
Imagine a perfect day without the world that has become so vulnerable.
Imagine a perfect day: No hate, no war, no blood, no cries...
Imagine a perfect day without the world that has become so vulnerable.
Imagine a perfect day: Just love and peace and hope and something...
An element of normalcy will return - with a little annihilation.
A few heads must roll to preserve the right...
for every man woman and child that might be born,
deserves the chance of freedom.
If they won't hear, they'll bleed.
Imagine a perfect day...
When every nation bows to us and us alone
we'll see a day of world enlightenment
for our way is the only way, the best way, we just know it.
When they finally bend to our conformity, they'll be free, free (to do what we tell them...)
Imagine a perfect day...
