Story Behind the Song
Another autobiographical song, coming from the angle of someone explaining the change in their life to an old acquaintance.
Lyrics
Out of respect for those I've let down in my life please accept this apology
And in regards to those I've hurt with my intentions, good or bad, please forgive me
But then again I never thought that I could change the way I live
But then again, here I stand before you now
But then again It wasn't me who had this power to change
So in the end a Higher Power has shown me how
And obstensibly I looked up just in time to see the wind taken out of my sails
(The wind still blows)
Self- defensively I curled myself back up into a ball but to no avail
(Whoever knows)
But then again I kinda thought I knew the answers to it
But then again I always figured I was wrong
But then again I always struggle through adversity you know
So in the end, I guess I proved myself right
Let the storms rage as they will
A house built upon Solid Rock will be standing still
And as expected I try to work things out all on my own- tell me what's the use?
Self reflecting in the mirror of Your Word always leaves me no excuse
Just let those storms rage as they will
A house built upon Solid Rock will be standing still
But then again I never thought that I could change the way I live
But then again I always figured I was wrong
But then again it wasn't me who had this power to change
So in the end I guess I proved myself right after all
Then again, I'm not the one who knows it all
