Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in my kitchen. I was reading the newspaper, eating cereal, and I noticed this picture of a grizzly bear on the back of my cereal box. I said to myself, “you're a part of a dying bread my friend”, then I thought, well aren't we all.
Lyrics
dying breed
Old bear, look at your hair, it's all grizzle, but you're still there! Don't care, cuz you're a part of a dying breed.
oh please, not the trees, they're all lumber, and they're dying! Say cheese, you're a part of a dying breed.
The farms! Sound an alarm. We're loosing fields, we're loosing barns. Soot darn, you're a part of a dying breed.
And me? Oh, what can I be? I'm sharing dreams with my TV. You see, I'm a part of a dying breed.
And you? it's not what you do, but who you cut loose. You choose you're a part of a dying, you loose, you're a part of a dying, you choose, you're a part of a dying breed.
And us? oh, we're not much, a little love, a little lust, tough luck we're a part of a dying, you suck we're a part of a dying breed.
