	Story Behind the Song We wrote the music for this song in Emo Zevallos' garage in early 1999. Daniel and I started performing it as an instrumental song in the other bands we were in before the Fat Daniels. On Sept. 9 2000, we performed live as the Fat Daniels and Daniel incorporated the lyrics from the Pharcyde's song "Ya Mama" and thus our song was born. It is named Dante's Funk, because to us, playing the song was similar to descending and ascending into Heaven and Hell. (sort of)
