	Story Behind the Song In the late 70's, the Hawaiian Police Department decided to erradicate the entire marijuana crop from the islands. Code named "Operation Green Harvest" the smoke from the fires could be seen for miles. Tons and tons of marijuana burned for days, as helicopters plotted field locations and Hawaii's bravest went into hundreds of areas with weed burners. It was quite a sight to behold. Standing downwind was a blessing also. Needless to say, not much of a dent was made in the main product export of the islands of Hawaii.
