	Story Behind the Song This is the song that started Captain Bamboo. It all started off as a joke that I was going to play this in the school talent show. I got serious about it and learned to play it well. Reworked it into a 2 minute bass solo. Me and Timmy were joking around on the fone and somehow he brought up the name "Captain Bamboo"... Well, I decided as a joke I'd have myself introduced to the school as Captain Bamboo... At first I was joking... But it came the day of the talent show and I decided to tell the MC to introduce me as Captain Bamboo. He said everything was cool and decided that's what he was going to do. I went out there, my first time playing solo in front of anybody besides friends and family... In front of like 500 people, at least, probably more. This was played on a Peavey Foundation bass guitar. At the show I played on a friend's amp, I can't remember the model... Made it real loud though, thought I was gonna go deaf from just standing behind the PA... Needless to say, Captain Bamboo played very well and got quite a good response. Round of applause, whether to be polite or in truth, I don't care. But I did recieve quite a few compliments afterwards, so I'm hoping it did sound good. I replicated the sound of the actual solo I played as best I could in the recording. This is studio recording though... I through in some samples and changed stuff up a bit too. When I did this song I decided I would try and piss off as many people as I could by dragging out the improv at the end far longer than the 2 to 3 minutes I told the coordinators it would take. It turned out to be about 5 or 6 minutes long. I sort of made the talent show last far longer than it should have because of that... It through off everything... Heheh...
