This song just kicks your ass, straight up. It's short, simple, and decisive. In other words, it's exactly what you want to hear, right now. |
CD: Demo: 12/17/01
Label: None... we're looking for a label right now. Any offers?

Story Behind the Song
This song was written after an argument with some people over political correctness and how much it sucks, generally. The song is about how the guy in question has just been so un-PC that people hate him and think he's concerned with himself. Yet when he tries to tell people what he's feeling in his un-PC manner, people blow him off, and thus starts the song.
Simple to record, we only had one take to do all the songs on the demo. Quality suffered a bit, but the intensity shows through nonetheless. It took about five minutes to rant the lyrics out, but this is the fifth version of the music, but we like it best, so far.
Lyrics
BURNED OUT
VERSE 1
I'm tired of everyone's problems
Why can't I have my own aired out
For everyone to know?
I guess it's because I'm a guy
Living in a sensitive world
That's a load of bullshit, don't you know?
PRECHORUS
The lies and the hatred, they're all I know
And I have to them end before I go
I'll want the world to know about me
That's what I have to do to make me see...
CHORUS
I'm burned out
On myself
I have to change what I do
Or else I'll be dead soon
I'm burned out
On myself
I have to change what I do
Or else it's over soon
VERSE 2
So tell me but nothing,
Let me tell you what I need
To get off of my chest
So shut the hell up, please!
Stop whining about how you
Have more than you can chew
I'm sick of your bitching
Now let me be...
PRECHORUS
CHORUS
And they tell me that the lies and the hatred
Are all my own
And I have to change that before I go
But I want the world to see the real me
It's what I have to do
To make me see...
CHORUS x2
