Story Behind the Song
This song was the last song written for D.O.R's self titled debut cd. The band had nine songs ready to go for the cd they were about to record, but wanted just one more song to even everything out and have ten tunes for there first cd. With recording time already booked, and only three weeks away they thought they were screwed. But then, Brandon, out of the blue, started playing a riff on his guitar. The band thinking the riff was bad to the bone, turned on the tape recorder and started jamming. Chris the singer took some old lyrics out of his beat up folder and every thing just fell into place. The song was finished a week and a half later, just three practice's and out came 455 rocket, D.O.R's tenth and last song on the cd.
Lyrics
455 ROCKET
Waiting for the signal, hear the engine roar
Reckless abandon, pedal to the floor
Never felt so alive, tires melt the street
Felling like the god of thunder, strapped into my seat
(chorus)
All four barrels open wide
Hear the engine wind
Can you fell the power of my
455
Euphoric from adrenaline rush, high on nitrous oxide
Wrong way down a one way street, never seen the sign’s
No escape from certain death, I’ve gone to far this time
Pushed the pedal to the metal, now I’ve crossed the line
(chorus)
(2nd chorus)
Smoke fills the air, smell of burning rubber
I feel the power, now I hear the thunder
Twisted metal burning roll cage
Nitrous oxide blast
Open eyes to flaming nightmare
Foot still on the gas
(chorus)
