"Show Me What Love Is" is a hauntingly rhythmic acoustic ballad which attests to Eve Selis' achingly beautiful voice and mature songwriting. | MP3.com CD: Music from "Song of Songs" - buy it! MP3.com CD: Show Me - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
This song is a testament to the old adage "Love will always find a way." Whether it be romantic, divine or familial, Love is always within reach. Sometimes just barely, but nevertheless, it always wins in the end.The song was recorded live in one take with producer Thom Wilson (Ricki Lee Jones, The Offspring) at the helm. Only the electric guitar was overdubbed. There is no snare drum on this song, drummer Bob Sale is actually slapping his knee.
Lyrics
1. Show Me What Love Is
Crowded subway, Monday morning blues
Lost my Sunday, nothing much to do
I wasn't giving, none given back to me
Till I met you, you have what I need
I was so blind I didn't realize
I have been waiting for you in my life
To show me what love is
Days went by, where did they begin
Hypnotized, sometimes without end
I was hiding from the world outside my door
Always knowing there was something more
And I was living halfway never whole
You have embraced me down into my soul
To show me what love is
Now I'm high
A million miles
In a dream
Lay your hands over me
chorus
