Story Behind the Song
The natives of northern NH called themselves Abenaki "people of the dawn". Early French settlers called them Loup,(wolves)and their land Wolf Nation. They lived in mountains that are not the highest in America but they are the oldest. You can sense a million other travelers climbing the winding trails, but you still feel as if you're one of the first.
