Story Behind the Song
Heres a song pretty much about scars, visible and emotional, and as cheesey as it may sound about people NOT judging others by their cover. As they said in the movie ALMOST FAMOUS "beautiful people have no souls, its the funny looking people that make the great art and have any true depth". (thats not an exact quote by the way.)
It was recorded fairly easily in the studio here in Fredericksburg VA. All compliments go out to Jeff Covert for this one. He produced and mixed this one perfect. It was always a song of ours that i was never really sure about til i heard the final mix. Now its one of my favorites.
Anyway "I DARE YOU" a song for freaks and the misunderstood everywhere. enjoy.-gc
Lyrics
Before i get my head out of the sand
i wanna make it clear
i don't think you understand
You don't have permission to look at my life
A single point of a view
from a single person's mind
And if you stare to long
Are you afraid of scars?
I Dare You, I Dare You, I Dare You,
to look at my soul
I Dare You, I Dare You, I Dare You,
to look at my soul
Lets leave my body outta of this
If its normal to you, then its normal to the rest
And i don't think you get it,
you're timing is wrong
By the time that you get it, you should be gone
repeat chorus twice
