Top 10 on MP3 Reaper, Jan 2002! A midtempo rock song (with my trademark ethereal touch :^) in a sort of Dire Straits vein that deals with a young woman's battle with depression. Features special guest appearances by Steven Burrows (www.mp3.com/dosgoyim) on bass, Scottie Sindora on vocals (he's currently in Dos Goyim with Steve), and Lane Patterson of RadioFree (www.radiofreefanbase.com) on lead guitar. Also unique is that this is my first full length tune where I play my new e-drum kit! :^)
Credits: Dan Simes: Rhythm guitars, drum kit, keyboards...Steven Burrows: Bass guitar...Scottie Sindora: Vocals...Lane Patterson: Lead guitar Lyrics by Dan Simes Music by Dan Simes and Steven Burrows.

    Lyrics
    Disconnected strings,
    Are tyin' her life together.
    Each morning brings,
Silver clouds lined with heavy weather.

    He is there,
He tries to wipe away her pain and confusion,
    Her life's in mid-air,
She finally sees through her own illusion.

    She breaks down,
Standing alone in a crowded room.
    "I'll be fine, "
she says, "Pay me no mind,
    just something in my eye."

    (Solo)

    Interrupted,
    Tears are mingling with laughter.
    She's corrupted,
All that was before and will be after.

    Decision made,
Untie these strings or be over.
    She's still afraid,
To fight the sadness that so controls her.

    She digs down,
Searching inside for the girl she knew.
    "I'll be fine, "
she says, "I know in time,
    I can see this through."

    He comes in,
    And holds her so close
    That they're sharing souls.

    She takes his hand,
    And they walk the sand
    As the ocean rolls...
