"I Live Here in the Forest" - Introducing Duke! He's that infamous wolf with the sweet tooth. Riding Hood is coming down the trail with her basket full of treats and Duke is hiding close by, watching. Tempted by the smell of what's in the basket, he considers his next move. This is the second scene and takes place, of course, (along with chapters 4 and 5) in the forest.

    Story Behind the Song
This is the song in which we get to meet one of the classic villans in storytelling lore - the wolf! In fairness to this wonderful species, our wolf is not out to harm Riding Hood. He simply wants her basket full of treats. (What makes Duke want to do something bad? Stay tuned to our story!)

    Lyrics
I Live Here in the Forest (Duke) - I live here in the forest / Where I find what I want to eat. / Mice and rabbits fill me up but today I feel like a treat! // Someone's coming down the trail and she's got / Such a sweet smell of goodies by her side. / Sandwiches and the faint smell of butter-tarts. / Maybe some chocolate inside! // I'll stay close and follow and I'll find where she's going to. / Then I'll scurry up ahead and I'll do what I'm gonna do. // How do you think it means to be mean? / And how does it feel to be frightful? / Look at that basket: what a dream! / It's treats will be so delightful! // I don't want to frighten, but today I'm feeling bad. // Something sweet and good to eat is sure to make me glad. // Someone's coming down the trail and she's got such a sweet smell of goodies by her side. / Sandwiches and the faint smell of butter-tarts. / Maybe some chocolate inside! / All for me! / I can see. / What a treat! / Sweet to eat! / Now to hide, shh!
