Up tempo song about the anticipation of going on a blind date. A good rock song with a good blend of acoustic and electric. |
CD: Blind Date

Story Behind the Song
With this song, the music idea came before the lyric. The main musical riff of the song was actually the creation of my long time "musical partner" Christopher Smith.
We were working on the lead break to another song when we just started jamming and he started playing the riff. I liked it and turned it into this song.
The first version of the song was actually about a "first date" before being turned into "blind date."
I just decided I liked the "blind date" idea better.
This version of the song is recorded in the key of E in D mono tuning with a capo on the second fret

BLIND DATE
Friday night. Off work late. He's gotta get home to change
Tonight's the date he made with her. He hasn't seen her face.
A telephone--a sexy voice--that's all he knows.
A friend passed on her number and said she just might go on a blind date.
Blind date
She's at home all showered off, her strait hair lightly sprayed.
Putting on light make up and lotioning her legs.
Should she dress up? Should she dress down? The outfit on her mind
A little skirt, a little top, and heels to reach the sky for her blind date.
Blind date
break
Ah, Ah! It's all about that first impression and any sign of shared attraction.
Cool slacks, hair gelled back, the razor cut his face.
A piece of tissue on his chin driving to her place.
Her make-ups on, her lipstick's straight. She meets him at the door.
He quickly checks her up and down and thinks that he just scored on this blind date.
Blind date
He's nervous and he can't relax. He tells her she looks great.
he says that she works out a lot. He really likes her shape.
It's half past ten, they're in a booth flirting through each dance.
At 12 o'clock they're really glad that they both took a chance on a blind date
