    Story Behind the Song
This song went down pretty quickly. Chris wanted to do something that sounded a bit like Utopia in the late 80's. Jim invented the guitar arrangement in the verses and everything else fell into place. A lot of lyrics for a 4 1/2 minute song, eh?

    Lyrics
    Tuesday Morning - round 5 o'clock
and he gets dressed to go
The sun is rising - tired horizon
    Your weary eyes won't show

The weekend went about a day too long
and now you're singing someone else's favorite song
Get out of bed - put on your morning dress
When was the last time that you faced such a mess?

    Tuesday Morning - now 5:15
and he is out the door
Pull up the covers - it's far too cold
    And you don't expect more

The lovin' went about a day too long
And now you're humming someone else's sad song
Stop the alarm and rub your eyes
You've got to wake up so you throw on your disguise

    Tuesday Morning - 5:45
    Time to start the day
Put on some coffee - cold water in the shower
Go and prepare for what comes and what may

Friday - you danced all alone
Saturday - you tried a different part of town
Sunday - you cried all alone
Monday - you slept your way home

Tuesday morning's here - have you misplaced the years?

The hustle went about a day too long
And now you wonder how the hell you finally got along
You were hungover and you took a lover into bed
Now you need to wash the sheets and clean the room instead

    Tuesday morning - exactly 6:15
Sit on the bed - but you're not dressed
You've got the laundry all sorted out and ready
So why the hell are you still so damned depressed?

Friday - you danced all alone
Saturday - you tried a different part of town
Sunday - you cried all alone
Monday - you slept your way home

    (solo)

Tuesday morning's here - have you misplaced your fears?

The weekend went about a day too long
And now you're singing someone else's favorite song
You've got the paper but you haven't turned a single page
Your hands are trembling from unsatisfied rage

    Tuesday morning - 6:45
    Take an illness day
All you've accomplished is being sorry for yourself
It was a bad start anyway

Friday - you danced all alone
Saturday - you tried a different part of town
Sunday - you cried all alone
Monday - you slept your way home

Friday - you danced all alone
Saturday - you tried a different part of town
Sunday - you cried all alone
Monday - you slept your way home
