This tune was almost exclusively written by Will in the spring of 99. I played it for Chris Wheeler a local guitarist way back then and he thought it had more potential than "Herschel." Anyway, we all play our normal instruments and Chuck sings via the magic of my 4-track tape recorder which was utilized in all these recordings.
Will can once again take the credit for the lyrics and music with myself adding the piddly little drum parts. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was recorded in 3 parts.
Will and I played guitar and Drums onto track 1. Charles layed the bass track (2) down using the headphones and the 4 track. Track 3 has Charles singing his brains out.
Only Will can decipher the true meaning of this ditty.
Lyrics
Yesterday I saw this girl that I've seen many times before, and I finally got the nerve to go and talk.
So I walked up to her with my heart in my throat, and her boyfriend told me to take a walk.
If I'd said something the first time I had seen her on the street, then perhaps I'd be the one she'd call her man.
But I'm not very strong, and I'm not very tough, but I'm not blond and I can't get a tan.
[CHORUS]
Let's go to my car
We can drive away very far
Into the clouds
It'll be just fun
With the wind blowin, the radio on
Yesterday I saw my friend for the very first time.
In a million years you haven't changed a bit.
Last time that I saw him he had hit me in the face, said he wasn't gonna have a hissy fit.
But he did and now things have changed, they'll never be the same.
Holding grudges won't get you far in life.
But the backstabber shines through and I can see it in his face.
By the way, would you like back your knife?
