If the aim of your life, the goal of your heart and your greatest desire is to please God, then you have just found your theme song. Expressing my own desire to be continually faithfull to my Heavenly Father, this gentle song stirs the soul to be steadfast. |

Story Behind the Song
This song earned an honorable mention in the 2000 Great American Song Contest, the first contest I have entered in nearly 20 years. The motivation for the lyrics grew out of a deep and constant desire to live a life that would bring God great pleasure. Like all my songs I heard the music as I wrote the words down, all but the chorus. Not until My brother-in law looked over the lyrics did the chorus come into existance. This recording was a one take wonder only meant to be a demo until later, yet has survived just the way it was laid down on my 4-track, in 1990. I've cleaned up and redone my vocal since then plus sweetened up the recording just a little. This is still one of my personal favorites as well as for many who hear it.
Lyrics
"Don't Let Me Fall Away"
-Vs.1-
In my hour of weakness
I fell down on my knees,
I turned my face towards Heaven
And I begged my Savior please.
Give me strength to live the life
That faces me today
And when my strength has failed me Lord
Don't let me fall away.
-Chorus-
Don't let me fall away, Lord,
Don't let me fall away.
When my strength has failed me Lord,
Don't let me fall away.
-Vs.2-
For I've given you my heart and mind
And every part of me,
And when that day of judgement comes
I pray you'll find in me.
One heart that followed you,
One soul that remained true.
One life that you've enjoyed,
One empty place where you filled all the void.
