	Story Behind the Song One of the first songs recorded on the CD. I love words. Sometimes it's an ad, or something in a newspaper. In this instance, it was a Travis song called Driftwood. It's a great song and title, but I thought about driftwood and how its movement is shaped by other factors than its own will, if it had one, that is. That set me thinking about relationships, and how sometimes they just drift and you're not in control, but sometimes that's the way you want it. From the driftwood idea, I moved on to other things that could be out of control, like the piece of paper and the falling leaf. I called Todd one Saturday while in Saint John and he'd written this amazing tune to go with it. It was instantly going to be a hit, so much so while he was singing it to me over the cell phone I missed my exit on the highway. I thought it had a George Harrison kind of feel to it at the time, now it just sounds a lot like a Foothill song.
