Story Behind the Song
this song took on life when two different people were experiencing the end of life. One was holding on so tight and was afraid to let go while the other was asking to be taken. Some say that the song is depressing while oddly enough I didn't think that it is. I find that when it's our time to go, dying and going to heaven can be an exciting venture and that one day we will see our loved ones there.

Let Her Fly

She’s 83 year old, there’s pain in her eyes
tears in mine, as I sit by her side
holding hands so gently, I can not let her go
But I pray someone was calling, calling her home.
Let her fly, let her fly
lift high above this earth
let her spirit soar the sky.
Let her fly, let her fly
Lift your angel Lord and let her fly.
Her life was all but simple, there were pains along the way
her father ended his life, her brother did the same
she grew to be much stronger, how I thought the world of her
her spirit seemed to be, so high above this earth
Let her fly, let her fly
lift high above this earth
let her spirit soar the sky.
Let her fly, let her fly
Lift your angel Lord and let her fly.
I know that she will be, in a place so far from me
leaving all her suffering behind
I’d love to be there with her, but my time is not yet here
One day Lord, I’ll hold hand again.
Let her fly, let her fly
lift high above this earth
let her spirit soar the sky.
Let her fly, let her fly
Lift your angel Lord and let her fly
Let her fly, let her fly
Lift your angel Lord and let her fly
Lift your angel Lord and let her fly
