Story Behind the Song
lester had this bass line and a progression for the chorus. mike came up with the melody and arrangement. les and mike had a colage of lyrics about no one in peticular, and just put them together so they would have a jilted theme. les went to the store. mike did some adding, editing and finished up the song, and here you have it. we're playing it a tad slower than we do live.
SARGE: vocals, electric guitar-
MIKE: drums and percussion, bassVI, bass, keyboards-
LES: Electric and acoustic guitar-
Lyrics
"Hey you, it's me again
Driving around your cul de sac
Always backseats
Always sidelines
Never be born between you and me
You could have been the one
The thoughts that hold us have come undone
And I believe in friends we left behind
In the wrong place, and at the wrong time
You were right under my nose
Hey you, it's me again
Mumbling to myself
Hapiness, the mist of yesterday
Hapiness must have missed yesterday"--MANEY/JONES
