	Story Behind the Song Though Jens and myself had already produced a number of pure "sample tracks" in early 1996, featuring TV-Themes, we really began the "serious" songwriting business with "Wer überwacht die Vögel?". I recall myself telling Jens about my basic ideas for a song that would press ahead with the Paranoid Schizophreniacs project. I just wanted to do something else, something very strange which - on the other hand - should always be harmonic, melodic and easy to recognize. So we sat down and produced this track which was the first to have "real" lyrics. It was only a matter of hours and it was real fun! We still don't have a clue who monitors the birds..
