A Rockin' Tune that never got any lyrics. Someday it will have on top of a very cool guitar driven song |

Story Behind the Song
One day back in 1991 I was sitting in my studio (spare bedroom with guitars, amps, 4 track and tons of other gear) with my guitar when the phone rang. It was my cousin Harvey. I can't remember what we talked about, we don't really talk all that much. But as soon as we got off the phone I played the riff at the intro of the song. I don't know where it came from but I really liked it. I constructed the rest of the song. I never wrote any lyrics for it. The verse section could use a little work. It reminds me of the "Adams Family" riff. I was going for a 38 Special kind of thing but missed the target a little. I really like the solo. When I first recorded it I had the basic idea from the first take (just improvised it). I did go back and tweak it a little and really like the way it came out. After the solo, during the chorus repeat section I do a key modulation. I've always loved the "livin' on a Prayer" modulation that Bon Jovi does so I ripped off the idea and cut the measure before to 3/4. I like the effect. Anyway, give it a listen.
