	Story Behind the Song The motivation for this song was a desire to write some music that would appeal to listeners beyond the traditional soca/calypso community, and to stretch myself as a writer and performer. Simply put, the lyrics mean that a lover has been waiting for some time to get it on with his main squeeze who has been holding out on him. His language is direct, yet very affectionate. The term, "Sugar Bum Bum" comes from a calypso made famous by the Trinidadian calypsoniam, Lord Kitchener, and once performed by Michael Jackson. Translated it means sweet or cute ass, as it pertains to a woman's backside which many men find very attractive. The song was written in Toronto, Canada over a period of almost a year. It was recorded in about a week, and took maybe half a dazen takes.
