	Story Behind the Song Inspired by the Scandinavian Fairytale 'East of the Sun, West of the Moon' and an old Norwegian folksong. I was house sitting in Malibu, overlooking Surfriders Beach and the Pier, the wind was howling, relationship recovery was taking place, and all elements came together in one afternoon. The recording process took a little longer. This song was originally recorded at Vinnie's Studio on Ocean Park in Santa Monica, in 1992 and was tittled 'East of the Sun." It was featured on the soundtrack of the film 'Galatea's Wish' which airs occasionally on Showtime and the Playboy Channel. Cellist Martin Tillman also played on the original version The song was recorded again in 1996 and included in the CD 'Home' Lyrics west of the moon there once was a man, who followed the sky he rode on a cloud as i watched him roll by and wanting to know if he'd take me along he gave me the answer deep in his song he wasn't imaginary, he was real i tried to touch him but all i could feel all i could touch, all i could hold were the things that he gave and the stories he told south wind take me where the north wind blows i'm stuck within this stone room follow my heart and find my soul east of the sun and west of the moon he carried me off somewhere in his disguise carried away by the look in his eyes i searched them deep but couldn't see the image inside was a reflection of me i've carved the mountains out i've swallowed the sea i've waited longer than eternity in my dreams i've flown as high as the eyes can see as deep as the dreams may seem he's still a mystery to me i wanted an answer, i wanted to see who was this man with such a hold on me the trouble with looking is what you might find can you live with the truth and leave illusions behind the books on the shelf have told me what's in store the rest of my life it seems was lived before paying the price for someone else's fate i'll make it my own before it's too late
