	Story Behind the Song This poem was written when the poet was a singer/songwriter and a student of electronic music in the early 1970's. It has no place and time and is not about one person. It was created in a time before she had ever published a poem. Indeed, she did not consider herself a poet, per se. She had already become great friends with Vladimir Ussachevsky and there was a great deal of magic in their friendship. She was 28 and he was 75. It also included the emotions she had for all the loves she had had, all the young men she had ever loved. She had also admired (as a dear friend, and who was also her elder) another professor, David Bennett who taught Philosophy. something about the aged always fascinated her, perhaps because she had never knwon her grandparents. Lyrics These are the Words Your body is a path I climb. Your humor a meadow for my rest. Your childhood a legend I pull at your sleeve to hear. Your days are knotted hands I massage. Your writings are oceans I can only hold in handfuls. Your eyes are languages I study and rehearse.
