Slow, sad, melancholy lament using solo piano and voices that sums of how I am feeling about this tragedy. Towards the end of the piece the music shifts to a hopeful more happy sounding modality which signals (in my mind anyway) the fact that we will rebuild and overcome. The piece ends on the sad note indicating that we will never forget those who suffered and those who are responsible. | MP3.com CD: An Orchestral Christmas - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
I guess it took until today (Saturday, 9/15/2001) for the tragedy of this whole thing to really hit me. I was actually working on the song Do You Hear What I Hear for my upcoming Christmas album and I could see Fox News on the TV in the other room. I began fiddling around with a sad type of chord structure and soon I added voices to it, rounded it out and perfected the melody that I wanted to portray and you are listening to the result. The entire process took about 30 minutes.
To me, this world will NEVER get away from evil until Jesus returns to take us to Heaven. I am of the firm belief that this nation of America needs to look at the law of God (the 10-Commandments) closely, and bring our lives into obedience to it. This means ALL of the 10-Commandments, not just 9 of them. For more information about this, please see my ministry site at: http://www.blessedhope.org.
May this song bless us, give us hope, and help us to never forget the events that happened this dark week in our history.
