Story Behind the Song
This song is weird because it's a really good song but never worked when the whole band tried to play it. This recording from Matt's tape player is the best the song has sounded. I guess it was a song meant for just acoustic and vocals. It's about some kid at my school that everyone looks up to and kisses his ass and not that he's a bad guy but the whole idea of watching everyone do that makes me sick so I wrote about it. By the way you may never hear this anywhere else, so enjoy!
Lyrics
VERSE
I look up to you, you're the coolest guy around,
Anywere you walk I'll worship that ground.
You're so cool I wanna be just like you,
I know I could be myself but I'm just a fool.
I'll do everything you've already done,
Because it looks like you're having fun.
I'll laugh at every joke that you say,
Oh and can I follow you around all day.
CHORUS
You're so cool--I wanna be like you,
Say everything that you say,
And do all things that you do.
Can I just follow you around,
Cuz you are the coolest guy in town.
VERSE
How do you do it you have all the girls all the time,
Maybe if I wear your clothes they'll all be mine.
Maybe they like that beer in your hand,
Maybe if I drink like you I'll be the man.
Yeah I could be myself but how cool is that.
You're where I've always wanted to be at.
I'll laugh when you make fun of my stupid hair,
Because at least you know that I'm there.
(CHORUS)
