Story Behind the Song
I was given boxes of mementos of these two sisters from the 1940's, Donna and Gloria
Wood! It is literally thousands of snapshots of them from birth, to living, to death, and even the rebirth of them.
They had a wonderful life up until Donna died very young in 1947. I found where they were buried, near my
house in Glendale CA ... up at Forest Lawn ... by using 1947 photos of the funeral and the family standing
around Donna's grave. They had snapshots of the coffin going into the ground, and many other
photos through the years, that seem to stop in the late 1950's. I continued the Wood Saga by
going up there quite frequently. It is a beautiful place where Donna and Gloria are laid to rest,
along with their parents ... Robert and Gertrude Wood. I love them even though I never knew them, but I
live through them. They inspire me...And if you believe in Guardian Angels, than they are IT.
