This is a song inspired by my lifelong patriotism as an American and with a renewed sense of pride following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. It is a song about our nation's flag. My good friend Ronny Tidwell played guitar and sang it. We recorded it here in Nashville, Tennessee, on a small digital four-track recorder at Ronny's home on September 30,2001. | MP3.com CD: Randy Starkey and Friends - buy it!

Lyrics
OLD GLORY
From Valley Forge with Washington, up to this very day,
The flag of America has waved;
So many men have paid in blood, so many men have died,
Making sure America was saved;
Chorus:
I'll never let Old Glory touch the ground,
I'll keep those Stars and Stripes a-flyin' high;
I'll stand beside those patriots who never let her down,
and never let Old Glory touch the ground;
Our enemies are foolish to think we'd ever fail,
To hold our colors high for liberty;
Tho' some of us have fallen, the rest will take their place;
and stand as one from sea to shining sea;
(Chorus)
She's red with sacred blood, her white is freedom's light, behind her stars our heroes stand true blue.
(Chorus)
