Lyrics
a fatman read in the sunday paper
of a tidy town where he felt that he should be
where the fruit grew well in the southern sun
so he made his way accross the ocean
he arrived in the main drag late one night
his eyes were wide at this wonderful sight
festooned with fastfood to his delight
and there stood graceland on his right
he fell deep in love with this paradise on the goulburn
where a rich old greek had built a home for a king
and elvis had come to live
and he drove on a sunday
to charisma chapel
he worked in the orchard
picking pears and apples
and nobody knew that he was the king
singing christmas carols for the lions club
when an old lady looked him straight in the eye
she said i know you you're the one who sings
you're liberace but where's your rings
he cruised round the lake on a friday night
with sauce on his chin from a higgins pie
in a lilac cadillac, roof down
in a shirt he wore in 1965
went to the fruit salad city
every two weeks to watch the cats play
he did some work at the cannery
canning crickets for spc
