Story Behind the Song
A story about bright lights and black holes.
Lyrics
She's scary and she scares me
and I don't know what to say.
And I don't believe that she
should be allowed to walk that way.
I had a lot to tell you
when this thought first came to mind,
but when your thought are really feelings
words are very hard to find.
Her physical attraction was
as weak as gravity,
but it's hard to get away
without escape velocity.
I saw her from a distance
just in time to rate her face
and though a million miles squared
is not an awful lot of space
it was enough to make me want to
turn around and walk away,
but her aformentioned gravity
still held me in its sway.
Our distance changed from distance
into something not so far,
and I could see that from her sunglassed eyes
she thought she was a star.
She never even looked at me,
she didn't even care,
and I could see that her prepulsion system
was her jet black hair.
She ran so hot and cold and fast
she slipped away from me.
She ran so hot and cold
just like the planet merury.
Mercury Girl, Oh Mercury Girl,
quick silver, shiny poison.
Goodbye.
