	This song I wrote in Vietnam. It describes the true feelings of those days. Those feelings that the GI had while over there,and what the overall feelings and going ons in the states. I dedicate this song to all my fellow Veterans who gave so much and some are still giving and to their families.

	Story Behind the Song It was pure hell. One day you were at home with your family,and the next 20000 miles away in some God forsaken jungle. Lyrics YOU TOOK A BOY You took a boy and put him alone, Thousands of miles from family and home. You made him live in sweat and mud, Then emptied his heart of all but blood. This was the life that we had to live, Our souls to God was all we could give. The peace boys sat in their easy chairs. With all the bullsh** back in the states, Nobody knew what it was like to be overhere. They burned their cards (that is draft cards) and marched at dawn, To chant their songs on the White House lawn. This was the way some of us were before. Oh God we hoped we knew what we were fighting for. Now if I live another day. I'll have to kill and fight just like yesterday. Now I see and I forgive. But who gives a damn what a soldier gives??
