Story Behind the Song
Jacques wrote this tune a few years ago.
I wrote the lyrics in July of 2001.
One of my favourite song lyrics is "I would walk on water for you." The song lyrics play on the words of Christ, and the pledge of marriage vows. Naturally, I could not have written these beautiful words without having a real life inspiration! This song is dedicated to my wife Pina.
I thought it was a natural for a duet, and what better person to have sing it with me than Heather Liscano! Heather and I have sung duets before, but they have always been National Anthems. This is a nice change!
(Thanks Heather!!)
Lyrics
My Love For You
I would walk on water for you
I will give my love, my life for you
There is nothing I won’t do
For the love I have for you
This my pledge
My love for you
All my dreams are spent beside you
All my days, I long to dream with you
Nella mana di amore
Alla luce, Prometto
Io con te
Nei occhi Suoi
You’re God’s gift
My Prayer
And every dream we share
Forever pledge my love for you
Now everyday this dream
This new life
We will share
I dedicate
And devote
I will always
Be one with you
Promise to be true
And to love and honour you
I would walk on water for you
I will give my love, my life for you
There is nothing I won’t do
For the love I have for you
This my pledge
My love for you
