	Story Behind the Song Gregory Mantila recorded God Bless America this summer as part of an album project he is working on simply because he liked the song. After the recent terrorist attack on America, the song took on a whole new sense of importance and urgency. He went back into the recording studio and re-recorded God Bless America September 15. "Before I was singing God Bless America simply because I thought it was a great song and I enjoyed singing it. But after September 11--and hearing Congress sing the song on the steps of the Capitol--I felt it was my civic duty to perform it. I would be very happy if it would help lift anyone's spirits and remind everyone what a great country this is."
